why my mp3 player keep skipping songs in 1 track?

recently got sweex mediterranean mp3 player not had it to mins and it as clusters and lost some mb was 256mb now 249 mb cluless read manual doesn't helped formated and degframtised it. still doing same thing and still lost mb help please i think its was bought faulty or i'm not a clue gutted as was a birthday pressy

all mp3 players or peripheral with memory has some of it taken up for system files etc (files to work it), that would explain the loss of memery

yes but at beginning it did have 256mbs got it wed then next day only had 249mb

stressing me out feel like throwing it.

the shop will have advertised it as having 256mb, but when places do this, they mean 1000K x 256 which equals 256,000K which makes it look like more memory, but a megabyte is really 1024K and this is how a computer (or electronic device) measures it, so 256,000 / 1024 = 250mb which is more or less 249mb.
