If you create your own site through World Press, do they own all the rights to the domain, content, etc?

If you purchase a custom domain name then the domain is yours, if you use a sub domain of wordpress.com (something like milly.wordpress.com) then it's theirs

Either way the content is yours, but because it's hosted on their servers they could delete it if they want.

Oopps, sorry yes, I meant wordpress.

Something odd has happened. The bf and his friend set up a site through it and submitted articles. They both sort of lost interest and left it for a few months. The boyfriedn decided to look at the site this morning and found that it had been re-designed and more articles added but neither he or his friend had done it.

Did they actually enter the stuff directly onto the wordpress blog, or link to the information on another site.

If they done the latter then if the content they linked to changed then what is shown on their blog would change too.

Well, if they didn't own the domain and just left it dormant WP may have taken it back? Not sure how common this is though? It seems a little unlikely.

I'm not sure how they entered it I 'm afraid. My involvement never exceeded making them a cuppa when they were writing a piece.

There is one other notable thing, all the entries are dated 05/04/11. It's a bit like it's been wiped clean, then all re-added on the same day.
