How to sort tracks within WMP playlists?
5 Answers
I have an audiobook divided into many parts / chapters, with filenames such as xxx01-01, xxx01-02 up to e.g. xxx06-04
I move them across to my Jornada which has Wimdows Media Player (mobile) version and set up playlist of each book by tapping "Create New Playlist", typing in the name of the book, then adding all the cahapters from the book into the playlist. The idea is then that I can listen to the book on-the-move and hear the chapters in sequence.
BUT
For some unknown reason WMP insists on adding the selected chapters in REVERSE order, i.e. xxx06-04, xxx06-03 down to xxx01-01, so I hear the chapters in reverse order!!!
There seems to be no way to affect the order of play except there is an up-and-down arrow button which you can apply a track at a time to move the position of the track within the playlist. With the number of chapters in my books this would not be a viable proposition!
Apart from "massaging" the playlist (.asx) files is there any way to accomplish what I need? I am using an ancient Jornada running WMP 8.5 for Pocket Pc.
Thanks in advance for any assistance
