Is there anyone here that is familiar with OpenOffice spreadsheets? I have just changed my pc, this new one not having Microsoft Office so have put in OpenOffice. It's alright with most things, but there is one in thing in spreadsheets that I just can't get, although I'm doing exactly as per instructions. It is passing totals from one file to another – it only updates the info if you close and re-open the files. It works perfectly well passing info from one sheet to another. I'm hoping it's something quite simple that I am not doing.

If sheats are open they will not refresh if the linked together - What you are seeing is a "ghost" image of saved spreadsheet - you using OpenOffice v3.3?
If it is a new PC with Windows 7 on it may have Microsoft Office Starter on it which consists of cut down versions of Word and Excel.

Thank you for your replies. My new pc is XP. My OpenOffice is 3.3. I will have to arrange files so that I can have everything within the same file.
Ian - can you not do it within 3 separate linked pages with one spreadsheet?

Yes, that's what I have done with one set of files. I have put everything into one spreadsheet, and then link from sheet to sheet. trouble is, I now have 23 sheets in the file!!!
