microsoft works and word

Hi all,

What's the difference between microsoft works and word?

Basically ive deleted a microsoft program off my PC which enabled me to type letters etc and cannot find it anywhere. Im wanting the genuine program/s and if possible for free or maybe just an idea where i go on the net to reinstall a non chargable program of the above just to set the system up, so it can later be updated.

Any ideas people????

You will have to pay for Word. Try Open Office, it's free and compatible!

Microsoft Works is a small set of programs which includes a word processor (and other programs).

Microsoft Word IS a word processor and is part of Microsoft Office.

Both Works and Word are chargable products so you have to pay for them.

You MAY have got a Works CD when you bought the computer, check the stuff that came with your PC.

Microsoft are no longer making or selling Works so it may be a good idea to move off that on to something else anyway.

As a matter of interest why did you delete the Microsoft product?

VHG, me being a dumb ass, thought i had to get rid of works to install openoffice. I have a disk 'microsoft works', should i just install that?
