Lack of Flash on iPad and iPhone
14 Answers
Are Apple doing anything to get round the lack of Flashplayer on the iPad and iPhone? It really is annoying not to be able to watch a significant amount of media.

No.
Not because they can't, because they don't want to support flash.

Thanks Chuck, That's the sort of answer I've been looking for and the response from Steve Jobs in the article does go a long way to make understanding the situation easier. In my case it is not games that are the problem, it is mostly news media, particularly the BBC who frequently broadcast items which require flash to view.
Why would anyone buy an Apple product and then complain there's no flash when everyone knows that they're not flash enabled? If you needed flash that badly why didn't you get a phone/tablet that operated flash? Is there some things that the Apple products can do that no other phone/tablet can't do or were you just caught up in Apples advertising?

The BBC have a free iPad News app where most of the days videos are viewable. Anything that isn't there, is usually searchable on the YouTube app which is built into the iPad. You might be able to do more with an iPad if it had Flash, but the battery would only last half as long. There are many Android Tablets that support Flash but most have poor battery life. Take your pick.
