Partitions.

my hdd is partitioned into two equal sections. the hdd is in constant use and i would like to move the partition without losing any data. i am using xp. how can i do this? is there any free software that will do it for me?

As b.craig points out there is software available. You can get trials of various programs, but not all will give you full program access until you buy them. Try downloading BootItNG. The trial version is fully functional.
Alternatively if you look through the computer magazines at your local newsagents you may find a free, fully functional, copy of something like Partition Magic. It won't be the latest version, but should do what you require.
