IT news organisations are saying they believe HP is getting out of personal computing by divesting itself of its PC, Palm and Touchpad divisions. A formal announcement is expected tomorrow

Well IBM sold their PC division a few years ago (Lenovo), so the rumour may be right.

I just dont think there is enough profit from these end user PCs and laptops for these large companies. They cant compete with the smaller "lean and mean" companies.

Much more profit in servers and services.

I agree with you about PC's. But the webOS stuff (Palm pre and Touchpad) was supposed to be a solid contender against Android and iOS
and HP owns Compaq
