installing new printer problems

i brought an epson stylus sx130, id thought there was a usb cable so started to install. then came to a stop as i had no cable. next day i tried again but it wont work. i tried to use my install wizard but the drop down list doesnt have my model on, so what do i do? my disk drive isnt working too good and doesnt recognise the disk. i dont know what else to try does anyone have any ideas? also im not too technical.

As long as the driver is installed the printer should work OK. (The other software can be added afterwards if required).
Download the driver installation file from here:

Then double-click on it to run the installation program.

Restart your computer, plug the USB cable in and cross your fingers!
You can then download and install the other software if you think that you'll need it.

Although I am happy to recommend Epson printers, because compatible ink cartridges are available from ebay sellers for pennies – why they p!ss off their customers by not including a UBS cable with their printers, which would cost them significantly less than 50p, is a mystery to me.
After all, they include a detachable mains cord set (plug/lead/coupler) – which probably costs them more than 50p.
