Saving photos from Facebook

I assume it is possible to download and save photos from Facebook but haven't worked out how. I don't really use Facebook except to keep in touch with family abroad, and it would be nice to be able to save their photos.

Any help would be very gratefully accepted.

When you view the photos there is a link just below them that says "download"
