A question about an iPod

As you're probably aware if you've read my previous post, I dropped a red hot cup of tea on my iPhone.

Anyway, I have a 4GB iPod from years back and I want to use that for my music, because I go jogging and I'd be lost without my music on those long runs.

I've deleted what was on the iPod, but my iPod is not showing up on my iTunes now. It was showing before, but none of that music on the iPod was on that libary.

So why isn't it showing?

There was no need to delete the music. A synch with new music would have overwritten it.
How did you delete the music?
