I will be travelling around France this summer and want to be able to access a web based e-mail address such as hotmail from my lap-top computer. Apparently there is internet access at the camp sites I intend to use. Will my uk dial-up work in france and what adaptors (if any) will i need to plug the cable into? Any help on this subject will be very helpful. Dave.

Are you sure they mean "dial-up internet access " and " you can use your own computer" ?

If this is the case, then you will need one of these adapters:

The big bit goes in the french phone socket, the little one goes in your laptop.

Are you sure you want to use your uk dial-up? it's going to be expensive... And you'll have to add +44 to the number
