I tagged a friend in one of my photos and then one of their friends 'liked' the photo; I don't have this person as a friend but didn't think anything of it. Then I went on to a different friends profile and saw a picture from her friend (who I'm not friends with) in which she had been tagged; I clicked on it and couldn't see a 'Like' button.
How did the person manage to 'Like' my photo? I've looked through all the settings and can't find anything that would change it. Does anyone know of a way that I can stop people I don't know 'Liking' and possibly commenting on my photos?

change setting so only friends can see your photos and ones you are tagged in. Doesnt stop them seeing ones their mates are tagged in though.
sorry yes it does if you've clicked on only friends

That is the setting I've got; I'm just confused as to how a non-friend could like a tagged photo but I can't ldo the same?
because theyve got security settings

How can I get the same ones; virtually everything on mine is set to 'Friends Only'?
i have been able to like peoples status' im not even friends with

Maybe the 'Like' button is invisible; I've tried several different people now and definitely can't 'Like' the photo's they've been tagged in.

Ah; have found one that I can 'Like' so is definitely some sort of security or privacy setting; now just need to know which one it is!
Who knows what facebook is doing 'behind the scenes'?
Each individual photo now has its own privacy setting - the default seems to br 'public' so you'll have to change the settings on each photo or album to friends only.
