This may be simple to people in the know or impossible. If I watch BBC I player on my laptop, is there a cable I can use to put the picture and the sound to my television. If so, where would I connect it to and from. You may gather that I am a novice at this. Hope this makes sense. Thanks

Depends what connectors you have on your lapttop, and what connectors you have on your TV.

Search for "laptop to TV" or similar in google.
I connect mine with an HDMI cable. You need to have an HDMI slot on laptop and tv.
You may have a VGA output only on your laptop so you need a VGA input on your TV. Have been told VGA does not transfer audio so you need additional lead to carry audio from your laptop headphone connection to your TV. HDMI outputs carry audio and picture.
