I have recently bought the £89 Kindle from Amazon & had it delivered to a friend's address, he has emailed me to say that in order to use it he needs to submit a wi-fi password. The problem is he does not have wi-fi enabled
( he's with Virgin Media Cable & has Broadband via ethernet connected router). Does this mean that he cannot use the Kindle?.

He just needs to make sure the wi fi is on in the router, and that he knows his router wi fi broadcast name and password.
He would have been told these by Virgin when he got the router (may be on printed documentation or in an email).
