Sony dvd won't play jpegs

hi - I have a sony dav s500 av system and would like to play Jpegs on it. Ther seems to be lots of multiregion hack info around but they don't mention whether this jpeg problem is hackable/firmware changable? Any ideas? Cheers - Mike.

Sonys are almost impossible to hack, I have searched for a hack for that machine for a friend but couldnt find one
