wi-Fi puzzle

Hi ..I have a Gigaset SE 572 wireless router to which I have connected a PC, a laptop and an ipod touch4, not to mention an HP wireless printer, all of which never give a moments trouble connecting to the Internet....

.I also have a Sony Ericcson X8 smartphone which has no trouble connectiong to every other access point I have tried including Carphone Warehouse, Starbucks and Apple Store ..

BUT, it refuses point blank to connect to the SE 572...It can find it but won't connect to it..doesn't even show the wifi icon...

All "experts" at phone shops I have spoken to say the Phone is OK as it will connect to other hotspots etc..and the router is ok as it works with all my other stuff at home....

Any ideas please....it's driving me daft..

Does your wireless network broadcast its SSID? The first release of HTC's HD7 was unable to connect to hidden wireless network, though this has subsequently been addressed in a software update...

...mm.....sorry MarkRae, all I can say is how I described above...it is the latest model xperia x8 and has the latest software updates...I had my network set up for me as I am not competent in that area. Googling shows me that there are many with this problem but I can't get any of their solutions to work with mine.
