an IE9 user for the moment.

Normally I can bring up an AB answer and if I jump to another thread, I hit the return arrow to go back one (or two), top left hand corner next to the descriptor box of what site I am on.

I have noticed today this doesn't work.....

I hit Alt to bring up the View and go back that way - to find the box saying that previous attempts are saying "Advertisment"

Anybody know what is happening and how to restore the system back to simplicity (and Firefox or Chrome is not the solution)....

Thanks

bin ie9- i had the same prob - the back and forward buttons wouldn't work so i changed to chrome
I'm on IE9 - someone else asked this very same question a couple of hours ago. Mine was working then, but it's not now.
Nothing you can do, it's a glitch with the ad system used by AB, there's been a few comments about it today

(it's fine with firefox btw)
AB is broken, that has been proven over the last several days with the avatar problem.
IMO it's gravatar which is broken at the moment - not AB - but it gave me my replacement avatar overnight, so I'm not complaining.
I noticed with Firefox that my page hangs on AB sometimes and in the bottom left of the window it says ads.silverdisc.co.uk every time.

Thanks all - we go from broken avatars to broken return buttons - I suspect that AB is under "attack"

Great Avatar, daffy - which Tudor Caribbean site did you find that on, "me hearty"? Or are you sponsored by Gillette?
Its supposed to be a cat dressed up like Captain Jack Sparrow. Unfortunately all I see is my previous avatar of an eye and butterfly.
I knicked the cat off the Daily Mail website by the way. :)

Nice, rather Johnny Deppish.... I must find an actor to represent my sheep (and not Welsh so Hopkins is out)

Despite his appalling reputation, Woolly Allen?
DT and friend go to London ...

why isn't Firefox the solution? You may not like it, but it solves the problem. You don't have to delete IE or anything, you can have both and more.

Chuck......You say that it's ok on Firefox.

Sorry to say, it's not on mine.

Ron.
in that case I withdraw my comment, Ron. Do you have adblock running?
and, er, hang on, what's wrong with Woody Allen's reputation?
soooooooo frustrating wish it would return.....
"why isn't Firefox the solution"

You want to have a word with the company's "IT" department for me ? Or probably "Security" would be the better department to tackle. :-(
Hi jno, No,I do not have Adblock running. In fact, if I engage it on AB I am unable to go anywhere within the site. All I get is a list of 'Topics' and that's as far as I am able to progress.

All rather strange but I feel sure the Ed will be pleased to know that Adblock only knocks me out. Actually I am not really bothered by the Ads and sometimes will click one or two in the belief that AB benefits.

Ron.
