Occasionally when trying to save stuff off the net, a warning comes up to say I don't have permission to do that, and to contact network admistrator to get my priveleges modified.  It's a home PC that isn't networked, how do I get this sorted please?

Hi,

I would assume that you are using Windows XP Home edition, and you have your own log on. This may be set up as a "Limited User" account, which limits (obviously) the things that you can do. You would need to log on as an administrator to change your user rights to "Power User" or "Administrator" for your normal log-on account.

Hope this helps

Without Administrator privileges, you may not be able to save at specific locations, e.g. the root of the C: drive. As yorks2510 says, check if you are an administrator - you almost always want to be on a home machine.
