My niece has just got herself a computer and she has got 30 days free security' Courtesy of ;;;;;;,...... but after the 30 days she had to pay, i've told her NOT to pay! but she says says she feels safer paying.
How Can I convince her she's wrong?

>>I'm like her and think I'm safer if I pay. You don't get much for nought in this world.
Totally not true.
There is LOADS of free software out there, much of it very very good.
An operating system called Linux is free, and half the web sites in the world run on Linux.
Libre Office is a free full featured office suite.
Paint.NET, an excellent photo editing program, is totally free.
Microsoft Security Essentials is free, because Microsoft want to reduce the number of viruses on Windows they provide this free.
Also many companies like AVG and Avast (who SELL security software) also give part of it away for free as a "taster".
I could go on and on, there are hundreds (maybe thousands) of really good free pieces of software available.
In fact many home users who run Linux (free) and Libre Office (free) dont pay anything at all for any of the software on their PCs.
