Apparently most of the world's spam and nasties arrive through OE. I speak as a complete novice, blundering about the keys and mouse clicks, as I only got my home PC in February. I had terrible times at first sending and receiving any e mails at all. I have both hotmail and yahoo e mail addresses. I sorted out various problems about sending/receiving e mails with McAvee Support but it still comes down to no Outlook Express ones. Say I am reading a bulletin sent to me and I want to reply to a pop-up shown on it. I click and the grey window appears after the Outlook Express logo window. I soon found out it was a waste of time typing an e mail in that direct way because when it came to clicking SEND, I found it blocked. If I pay 20 a year to upgrade my e mail (I can be an @co.uk) OE could be accessed/sent. Same with yahoo. I might do that in the future - just another thing to do! Meanwhile I am soldiering on with the e mails I can do, free. Also nothing will happen when I use the OE window direct. Luckily I can ignore it at present and use my others. I have got support from a variety of HELP sources but I suppose it depends on what make of P you have.. My HP support is good and I can phone at a price rather than try and read all the eye-glazing stuff on the side windows from MSN or McAvee. It is frustrating isn't it? Perhaps a very knowledgeable computer buff will come to your aid. I can only sympathise really.
