i even printed all the info allbags + chris provided, went through everything step by step, and as expected, i´m still none the wiser!!
maybe its not meant to be!!!
eg i clicked on chris´s link for the scangear cs file, double clicked when advised to. , still nothing
i somehow think without the drivers been downloaded, i´m whistling in the wind.

It was the 32-bit drivers .. right? Sure they are the ones you need for your system?
What is your Operating System again?
Look In Control Panel/Add/Remove Programs and look for Canon/Canoscan Toolbox .. IF there .. uninstall it.

firstly,sorry for the delay allbags, but i dont have internet at home. i use a wi-fi bar.
secondly, my laptop is spanish, so trying to find things such as the things you suggested is a headache.

hi allbags, i just looked at the control panel, under add/remove programs, and canon/canonscan toolbox isn´t there.

Make sure you have it safe .. preferably on desktop.

Can you also open Windows Explorer ..
Expand so you can see the contents of 'C drive' folder (or the one Windows is installed in)
There might already be a folder called Canoscan?
Check for that too after downloading. (This is where the drivers for the Scanner are stored)

nothing seems to have happened so far

anyone should be able to download it .. no matter what they are using.!
When you click it .. it should take you to a License agree page .. before it will download.

allbags, well i know its a 32 bit driver now, found that in the control panel.
as for downloading, i´ve gone through the whole process, 3 times, every time, i think thats it!! but nothing. i should be bald now with all that hair being pulled out!!

Hi Allbags,
i forgot to say i took a look at my control panel, and found drivers, clicked on it, and found a message saying that 2 of my drivers were out of date, and that i need to replace them by paying x amount of pounds!!
my pc is 2 years old.
