Winrar zip files
18 Answers
I have some photos, received via email, in Winrar zip files. Picture of a pile of books bound together.
I read the winrar instruction manual but had no idea what it was telling me. My lack of understanding not the Winrar fault.
How can I remove the photos from Winrar? I have tried opening new folders in My Pictures and then cutting and pasting and copying and pasting but it will not let me. I just want to hold them in an ordinary folder so that I can use them in Picasa.
Any help would be welcome.

Thank you all so much, I have already moved one lot of photos from a zip file ( I followed the guidance in fender62's reply. Moved them to my c drive and from there to My Pictures. Couldn't move them direct to My Pictures but , no problem. Happy Christmas.
ps. Will a similar procedure work getting a photo out of Word?

Dear fender62 and albags, daffy & rojash. This large photo ( 1 of 2 ) I have in a Word programme is, itself in a Winrar zip file. I tried saving the particular photo to the c drive but just ended up with another winrar zip file containing a word file in my C drive as well as in My Pictures! I have tried cutting and pasting the photo from the Word prog into a new empty folder in My Pictures but it refuses, saying it is already there?
Which way should I approach this conundrum please. I am out of my comfort zone.

I do use Office Word. This file is saved in My Pictures and shows as a WinRAR zip file. If I open the Winrar file I have a list of the contents. Two Word documents and one other written document. If I double click on the word document it opens into the photograph, showing about one third of the picture side on. I can print this but only on paper and without any of the facilities in my Picasa prog, ie. glossy paper, size, best photo etc. I have tried copying ( & cutting ) but I cannot then paste it anywhere. If I manage to extract it to my desktop will I then be able to put it into My Pictures?
How to extract an image from a Word document:

I haven't yet managed to extract this big pic. It will not " drag " to the desktop, neither will it cut and paste or copy and paste, in to a picture folder or any other folder. On copying it it created two scrap folders so I assume it is probably too large so I shall try compressing and starting again. In the end I WILL DO IT. In the meantime may I thank all who have offered help and advice in this matter, I appreciate you giving your time to someone elses shortcomings. May I wish you all a very happy Christmas and thank you all for your advice over the last 12 months.
