i have just reset my computer back to factory settings, and bought a new wireless internet adapter, but now the internet is painfully slow - it varies but it can take around 4-5 mins to change one page! ... the little symbol just spins and spins...

any ideas why? do i need to reinstall something or download something perhaps? something for win 7 or firefox maybe?

it was fine before i reformatted.

i saved all my files etc and have reinstalled all the programs i use.

i have obviously installed the disc that came with the adapter.

its a compaq presario f500 on win 7 and firefox.

thanks

It is more likely to be your router that is the problem, try rebooting that. It could also be the wireless adapter not being able to cope with high speed internet, some of them are really poor.
