Nikon L120 Camera

Has anyone experienced battery draining on this camera ?
It states in the manual that it takes ordinary AA batteries but I've went thru 2 packets of AA "Energizer" batteries and onl;y taken about 24 photos.
I then put Ni-Mh AA batteries into the camera and so far so good.
Should I continue to use Ni-Mh batteries ?
Any help would be appreciated.

Always use rechargable batteries or it will cost you a fortune.

Rechargeables might not help much because they start from a voltage of 1.2V (rather than 1.5V from conventional cells) and many cameras regard batteries as 'spent' at only just below that voltage. My camera also 'eats' alkaline AA cells but Ni-Mh batteries give me at least 30 times the number of pictures that alkalines do.. They're the only batteries which I'll use.

Also, get the highest mAH rating you can find, the higher the rating the longer they'll last (though they also take longer to charge, so get two sets)
