what is the difference between dvd + and dvd- discs?
Also can i burn onto a dvd disc using a cd - rewriter?

They are different formats, similar to the old video system whereby you had Betamax and VHS - some stand alone DVD players are fussy as to which format they will play - heres an article that may explain http://www.cdfreaks.com/article/110

In response to your query using a CD Re-writer to burn DVDs afraid not but you can burn Video CD's
