dvd recorder from Aldi

I have bought a Tevion dvd recorder from Aldi, and try as I might I can't get it to work. Don't know if it's connected wrong or what, but there only seems one way to connect it and nothing happens. Anyone else had problems with one of these. There is a helpline number for Tevion, but I can't get through.

Have you connected it up to the telly with a SCART cable? If so, you'll need to watch it on AV1 (or 2 or 3...) on the tv. If not, you'll ideally have to buy one. It might work via the coaxial cable but this I don't know. SCARTs would be best.
