I have just been flicking through the Freeview channels and it says that the Freeview HD channels need an internet connection. Is this true of all HD sets?

Freeview HD TVs do NOT need to be connected to the internet to receive 'live' HD channels. Only 'Smart TVs' require to be connected, in order to obtain ADDITIONAL 'on demand' content:

honestly wouldnt know the answer to this question sorry

but i do feel that is rediculous as you can watch HD programs online without a TV.. If it is fact , it leaves the question of why to buy a HD TV
