Shutdown problem

Everytime I turn off my computer it freezes at "SAVING YOUR SETTINGS" and I have to switch it off via the processsor. This only happens when I've been on the internet. I've tried CTRL, ALT & DELETE, but everything's closed. Any suggestions?

sounds like there is a problem with the cookies. go into 'my computer', then into the 'c' drive, go into 'documents and settings'. go into the file with your username (the one log on to). in here, there should be a file labelled 'cookies'. delete this file then see if it makes a difference. if not, also delete the file 'application data' by going through the same files. hope this helps!

DO NOT delete the Application Data folder in your user profile, or any other one either, that'd be bad. By all means, go to the Cookies folder and delete all your cookies. If there's a index.dat file in there, you probably won't be able to delete that one.

The most probable cause is spyware. Download, install and run AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy and Microsoft Antispyware. Some of these programs find things the others don't, so more is better in this case. Make sure your antivirus is up to date. If you don't have any or your subscription is up for renewal and you don't feel like laying out cash, consider AVG Free which costs nothing and is free to update with the latest virus definitions.
