So far I've resisted dozens of phone calls from BT asking me to upgrade to BT Infinity, the reason being that I've been on a very favourable monthly rate for the last year and it would have meant a huge hike in price. Now the 12-month contract has come to an end, and the monthly tariff is about to rise (almost double). I've checked the individual components of the new rate, and if I stick with my present package the maths checks out. So maybe, if BT Infinity isn't going to cost much more, I should make the move. Any recommendations for or against? I don't want to move from BT.

I too resisted BT's phone calls but when I saw Infinity advertised at less than I was paying for earlier version broadband I phoned BT to ask why and they offered to upgrade to Infinity and lower price to match advertised price. Has now been done - no great improvement - but I don't download big files. Am tied in to 18 month contract not 12.

Any more advice on pros and cons of BT Infinity, please?
I got bt infinity just before xmas , after noticing my monthly charge was going up by a pound to £22.50 for option 2 , and the advertised charge for bt option 2 with infinity was £18 . So faster speed (37MB) for less money for the same 40gb download limit , no brainer really. So phoned bt and i ended up getting it for £16 a month ,and as you say you dont really want to leave bt ,as i have been very satisfied with their service . I should go for it.
