Digital Photography Suggestions (Pictures of sunglasses)
I need to take pictures of several pairs of sunglasses. I have a Casio Z3 (3 mega pixel) camera and no specialist photography props. I need to take pictures with a plain background. I have rolls of white wall paper I could use. However, Ideally i need light shining through the lens to show their colour.
www.sunglassesuk.com would be an example of the angles/lighting/style of the photos I require. I need just picture of the glasses.
I have photoshop to do some editing if required (i am a novice).
Any ideas of plain baclground / good lighting would be exccellent. I would like to give the impression (if possible) that they're floating in the air i.e. not my grubby hands holding them!
Thanks.

Lay in bed last night thinking about your problem and have come up with this idea (which I have just tried with some success). Across the top of the bath I put the lid of one of those under-the-bed storage boxes - it's made of a white, slightly translucent plastic. In the bottom of the bath I used a battery operated strip light pointing upwards and then photographed my specs. When I jiggled about a bit with the image editor I ended up with a fairly credible 'floating' effect. I don't see why you couldn't use a coloured bulb to give you a different colour - or put glass covered with coloured tissue paper over the bath as the shelf and then rig up a white light underneath. I am pretty inexperienced at photo editing but http://www.ephotozine.com/techniques/viewtechnique.cfm?recid=252 helped showing me how to play with an image. You are probably far more advanced than me in computer wizzardry but at least it sent me to sleep in the end! I'd love to know how you solve the problem!
