In the process of selling my HP Compaq laptop 6735s I've been asked if it uses a N or G Wireless? I've that up on google, but am no wiser - can anyone help please? Thanks very much.

you'll see that (under 'Communications') 'Wireless' is shown as "802.11 a/b/g/n (draft)". That means that your laptop supports all of the 'A', 'B', 'G' and 'N' protocols.
Since a device is usually defined by the fastest protocol it can handle, you can give 'N' as the answer to the question (although the word 'draft' suggests that it's an early, and possibly uncertified, version of 'N').
If in doubt, tell the potential buyer that the spec shows 'N (draft)'.

Not wishing to question Chris's answer, but... The 6735s was available with two different wireless cards, either a Broadcom 4322AGN card, which is wireless N capable, or a Broadcom 4312G card, which is not wireless N capable.
So depending on the exact model of your laptop (6735s has several sub-models) it may, or may not be wireless N capable.
If you check the device manager on the computer it will tell you which of the cards it has, and therefore if it's wireless N or not, if you don't know how to check the device manager then post what version of windows you have and somebody will tell you how.
