creating a recovery disk

I have to 'make' a recovery disc for my PC. The machine has been telling me this for some time now but now I will actually do it.

I presume that the process is idiot-proof, or I hope that it is. Does anyone have any ideas how many discs I will need - I have found a blank CD-R 700MB in my cluttered office/computer room - is this enough or will I have to look for another disc ?

Thanks

Generally you'll need about 2-4 blank DVDs

And yes it's idiot proof, just follow the instructions on screen

Right - I will look later and see what I can find.

Does it just back up the programs? My back-up is on Carbonite so I have no real concerns there.

Thanks chuck - are you one of the Chuckle brothers? ;-)
They create a system restore disk set that will take the computer back to exactly how you first purchased it.

They do not back up anything you have installed or any personal documents you have put on the computer since getting it and using the restore disks will generally delete anything like this so you should back it up separately (which it sounds like you are doing).
