I've just saved a document in MICROSOFT WORD & I want to forward to a friend but when I go to MICROSOFT WORD it's not there. Where has it gone?

Try 'my documents'

In my version (2007) click the circular 'Office button' - top left

Along the ottom edge should be a button 'Word Options' - click it

Click 'Save' in left pane

Should then list, in right pane, the default saving folder

Check there & hope this helps

OK evryone. Thx Karenmac60 but I did go to my documents. It's disappeared to goodness knows where. And puternut, I haven't an 'office button' top left on microsoft page. (??) Yes MarkRae, I DID save it in microsoft word. So it's obvious that my PC has ate it. I'm going to bed. I'm in the mood for a nightmare. 'Speak' to you all tomoro sometime. GOODNIGHT!

Yes they do that a lot! it's never a PICNIC!

Save another document in word and look at the location on your computer it's trying to save the new document, the chances are the other document will be in the same place.

You could also do a search (if you can remember what you called it, or part of what you called it) and see if the computer can find it for you.

Or do a search for *.doc* and it will find all word documents on the computer...

If you're using Windows7 click Start and move the cursor over the entry for Microsoft Word (you might need to click All Programmes first).

All your recent files will appear in a column on the right.

I found my document in DOCUMENTS/My scans but when I sent it to my friend, I viewed the sent attachment and there is no text, just a very small square with 2 blue blobs and a small red triangle in it. Will she be able to see the text? And why did this happen, cos I can see the text where its saved.
