Burning/Playing CD's

I have no problems burning CD's (using Windows Media Player - Series 9), but wondered why they then play on our Hi-Fi, but not on my personal CD player, or some other players? It usually reads 'No CD present'.

Would it be anything to do with the fact that our Hi-Fi is reasonably new & with the latest components, but the other players aren't so new?

It could be the type of CD you are using? Some new players don't care. But older ones require you to burn on a special "audio" cd. You can buy these in the shops the same as normal ones. CD-RW don't work well either.

hey, make sure that the cd is closed. The newer cd players might be able to read open cd's but older players won't be able to read them

the main problem here is one of two things:

1) brand of blank cd used. I find verbatim very good.

2)recording speed. To ensure wider compatibility i dont burn audio faster than 16x speed. try even lower and you should get better results.
