Bearing in mind that I am a total illiterate in computing matters, does anyone know of a program I could download that will reverse-spell a list of words? For example, if I input house, picnic and battle, it will spit out esuoh, cincip and elttab.
Thanks in advance for any help offered.

A swift response, Ankou, and one that seems ideal! Thank you.
... and here's one to turn it upside down - lower case only.

Do you have excel?

If so this will do it, enter text in any cell in column a (between a2 and a25) and column B will show it reversed.

lol, this thread almost made we want to take up programming again. A text string in BASIC wouldve handled that sucker!

Fascinating stuff, Canary, but not quite what I'm after. Excel is a closed book, as far as I am concerned, Chuck, but my partner uses it a lot, so I'm sure she'll help me get to grips with your response. Cheers to you both.
you can download a free font called "PR Mirror"
I've written a program for you QM.
You can download it from here:

http://www.rojash.co.uk/qm/Qm2Mq.exe

It's portable (i.e. it doesn't need to be installed, you can just copy the exe file to anywhere and run it).

It's only 402KB. You can enter a word or phrase, reverse it, change its case, copy and paste to any other application.
Rojash; gnizama si siht !
thanks for the links. Im gonna have fun with them

I can just about cope with typing-in, Booldawg. The mere notion of writing a PROGRAM is - for me - mind-blowing!
Having said that, I'm very grateful for YOUR having done just that, Rojash!
Same applies to your font suggestion, Folly.
Considering the opening words of my question, I am obviously going to need time to try out - and get partnerly advice - on all of these.
My thanks again to all of you meantime.
quizmonster; I think the "Best Answer" ball is in your court.

Khandro, I have shown my gratitude for ALL of the answers offered. For me - and, I trust, for those who responded - that will suffice. Isn't there an old saying that, "Comparisons are odious"?
OK, I take your point, but personally, I think rojash should be awarded 'Answer of the year' (So far!)
Nice of you to say so Khandro, but I'm with QM on this.

I don't like the concept of the "best answer" at all, and would be quite happy if AB abolished it.

I've made The Lady (partner) aware of all your offerings and - when she gets the time to look at them - I'm sure she will pass on her wisdom to me. Again, my sincere thanks to all of you.
