Would it be safe to remove AVG from my computer, so that I can reinstall to my computer.

The reason I ask is because I keep getting a warning popping up when I start my computer.

"V Protect Application has encountered a problem and needs to close".

I also have the recurring problem of my bookmark toolbar disappearing if I close firefox and start it up again, it appears when I first start uo firefox though.

FireFox 9.0.1, MS XP

Anyone who can help me would be much appreciated.

I would be inclined to re-download the installation files for AVG and save to a known or new folder without installing it yet.
Then disconnect the computer from the internet, remove the old AVG program using "ADD or REMOVE" and then re-install using the new installation files from the known or new folder.
Then re-connect to the internet.
This way it won't be possible to get any viruses or whatever from the internet while you are reloading.

Thanks Wak I will give it a try.

Have you any suggestions to make regarding my Bookmark Toolbar problem?
Sorry, I don't use Firefox but I would have thought that there would be something in the Menus about either opening or locking the Toolbars?
