I used to have a piece of software that only worked on XP that would record to a mp3 file what you where hearing through the speakers on your PC.
Is there a freeware program to try out that will to do this on Windows 7 Home.
I have a Soundblaster Live card on a desktop PC.

Perhaps my question was badly worded I still cant see how to do it..
I can record line in or microphone OK from a Cassette Player using Audacity but the only recording device shown in Windows is Microphone.
When I was using XP I could select as an input device "What you hear" on the menu as well as line in or microphone on the Soundblaster mixer menu.
If I am playing something on You Tube through Internet Explorer for example how do you record it ? The source is the computer itself ?
Since Windows 7 I havent seen this option. I dare not go back to an old version of a Soundblaster Driver.
