Hi Monty, there's PIXFIX, RECUVA, RESTORATION 2154(?) AND FASTFILE UNDELETE.
All FREE, Google for them and try.
Don't use the computer too much or you may over-write your files.
I normally use recuva

Although do NOT install it on the computer you want to recover files from... you install it on another computer, remove the hard drive from the computer you want to recover files from and connect it to the computer with the recovery software installed and then recover the files to that computer.

Trying to run it on the computer you've lost the files on will only result in you over writing the files as you try to recover them.
As you have alredy done a Windows recovery you may have already lost many if not all of them.

It may have been better to try to recover them BEFORE doing the Windows recovery.

Of course having things backed to an external hard drive, CD/DVD or other media is a better suggestion for not losing your photos.

Always have important files backed up at all times as you never know when you may lose the computer due to theft, damage or whatever.
Monty, I see you asked about this way back in February. What did you do then?
