Near the top of my screen is a message which says

Internet explorer has modified this page to help prevent cross site scripting.

How do I get rid of it please?

You go into your internet advanced security options and disable it (XSS check)

Unfortunately it disables not only the message but the check for cross site scripting which makes you less secure.

AB editor might object, but it does mean that IE designers think that sites that allow XSS are mildly dodgy.

I get it on one or two other sites - but there they are more considerately placed on the screen so as not to obstruct anything.
