I have bought a small extra phone to leave in the car glove box for emergencies
Samsung E 1150), is it possible to obtain a blank Sim Card & programme it with all my contacts etc. & the same phone No. as my main phone ( Sony Ericsson Experia 8) ? If this is at all possible could someone explain to me how to do this in as simple terms as possible. TIA
It doesn't seem like virgin offer the service (though to be fair all the other providers only seem to offer it to business accounts).... but you could try and call Virgin and ask them if they do offer a dual sim service (it will be a chargeable option if they do though)
Your personal data is easy (your address book numbers), there are loads of sim copiers that will do that. you can't transfer the part of the sim that allocates you the phone number though.
If you had 2 phones with the same number in different locations the network wouldn't know where to send the call. And anyway one might be fraudulent and it just complicates things too much.
or just put your current sim into the new phone, save the contacts to the phone (rather than the sim) And then put nw sim card in phone. If it's a pay and go sim, be aware you probably have to use it at least 6 monthly to remain with the serice
You could try putting the SIM with your contacts into the spare phone and copy to that phone memory (keeping the original details on the SIM) then swop cards leaving your existing numbers in the new phone and your main phone with all contacts still in place on the original SIM.
If you had to use the phone then that number would show on the recipient's phone if they had to call you back.
Would that do?
