Finding email addys!

How do people find other people's email addresses? A couple of friends from 40+ yrs ago have found mine, and I even have a different surname that they didn't know about, so how do they do it. I can't even google my own, please tell me! is there a pay site or just open to everyone?

Seriously, there is no record of email addresses, the chances are they got yours from mutual friends (or of your facebook page if you've listed it there maybe?)

I found one recently by Googling the surname and finding that they now run a business, I went to that business and found their email addy.

Haven't asked them as do not want to get involved with them again! and they did not know my married name. I am totally confused. I am just a plain old housewife with no businesses or anything.

Probably as Chuck says then, they may have got it from mutual friend/acquaintance or some other site you are involved with.

There's only here and FB which has my new surname, and we certainly have no mutual friends. I just don't want others popping uP out of my dark and murky past!!

Change your e-mail address to something like abc.123@(normal ISP supplier) and do not include your real name.

That's true, I do have an unusual name, so that may be why, thanks anyway all of you!
