sending back unwanted software...

just curious but if you have it installed on your machine, how do they stop you just carrying on using it?

i have something i am sending back, but its rubbish so i probably would never use it..i just dont need it... but just wondered if i could still use it on odd occasions should i ever need to...

If its PC software id check the T&Cs most won't accept it back unless its damaged.

If you've opened the shrink wrap then (unless it is obviously defective or unfit for purpose) you can't usually return software.

it is a 60 day trial... so i can return it...

No probs then - you may have to de-register your copy but, as you say, I can't see how else they can know whether it's still on your PC :)

Then somewhere after 60 days it will ask you to register it or it will die
