WE've recently changed for Sky to BT Vision as we are out a lot and were mainly watching recorded programmes and find the BT Vision works better for us and is about 40 pounds a month cheaper, But why can't we get the BBC freeview HD channels? - is it we are perhaps in the wrong area? The TV is brand new and HD ready?
Unless your TV is fitted with out the right tiner(DVB2,i think) you cannot receive HD Channels. most TV's aren't fitted with these at the moment. I know this because my son just bought a new TV for his bedroom and he bought and HD digibox to allow him to watch HD channels. The correct tuner will be fitted to Tv's from this year onwards i was told by our local dealer. Hope this helps
thanks for the link gingejbee which I clicked on after I posted the question about Sky - looks like our area has not yet 'switched' to Freeview HD - one of the problems with living in the sticks.
oh thanks for that matt ;-) - I can watch HD films through 'on demand' but I usually fully download to watch later. This maybe is another question within a question but would it be better to record and watch an HD programme later rather than watching it 'live'?
