Toshiba: Yay or Nay?
4 Answers
I'm just looking at this TV for my dad's birthday... http://www.argos.co.u...artNumber/5298934.htm
He really wanted one with the DVD player combined and this is one of the few that I could find.
Anyway... I've never owned anything made by Toshiba. Are they good quality? Especially the TV's.. are they the kind that are all pixelated like some "HD" teles?
I've read the 5 reviews on the Argos site but wanted to see if anyone here could help... just because you're all so nice!! :) x

A DVD player is a mechanical device with a number of moving parts. Bits wear out, tolerances are exceeded, the laser fails, dirt gets in it - any of a million things can go wrong. A separate DVD player is about 20 quid - when it packs up you can just replace it. When a built-in one packs up, you can:
(a) Stop using it and get an external one (back to square 1)
(b) Spend a fortune trying to get it fixed
