had a nasty experience with escan antivirus probably due to a conflict with zone alarm - no way am i using escan again
xoftspy and spyware stormer are also ones to avoid ive been told
anyone know of other software to avoid .thanks

tali122, I have to confess I had a problem with zone alarm.  Not only did it block all sorts of things I didn't want it to block, but it slowed my computer up dreadfully. It also seemed to clash with some of the other virus programmes and spyware that I had, and in the end I had to delete it in order to be able to use the computer without wanting to throw it out of the window! 

I'm sorry, that really hasn't answered your question, but if you do have problems, it may well be worth considering this.

katejess44 thanks for info, zone alarm is highly regarded but on too many seperate occasions it blocked my net access.
Its spyware products that need caution as there are many similar named pretenders
