I believe you can download old ZX Spectrum games, but I need an 'emulator'. What is this, and is it free?

Google "ZX Spectrum emulator" - loads available. I used this site ages ago - presumably the emulators and ROMs still work.

Here's a nice resource.

My personal favourite is R80.

I came across the same site as Daisho. I found that many of them were only for loading saved programs (like games). After trying a lot of the emulators, I eventually chose Klive because you can write your own programs, which is what I was looking for. It's also reliable. If you just want it for games, then Daisho probably knows more than me, so I won't recommend anything.
