an ebook is basically a book in electronic format.ie viewable on screen.

my son has used the slide show viewer in xp to read ebook comics this way

Microsoft Reader runs a variety of ebook (an electronic voice reads the book aloud and you can follow it). They're handy for pocket PCs. I've got 100s of ebooks and they hardly use any memory.
