My phone keeps telling me Im running out of storage space.

Its an Orange San Francisco (aka ZTE Blade).

I haven't really got alot of apps downloaded. The ones Ive got I would really like to keep.

Not a lot of photos either.

Cleared the caches but didnt seem to be alot in them.

Wish I could get rid of all the crud that Orange has preloaded onto the phone that I don't want.

Anything else I can do? Im not particularly tecchy so it needs to be simple!

Do you have a memory card inserted?

... I don't think so. Would that have been something I did myself? If so, then I definately haven't....
I suggest you pop in to your local phone shop and get them to have a look, it sounds like you have no memory card and you have filled up the phones memory.
As the Orange San Francisco is retailed with only 256Mb of internal memory, it has a problem as "Unless your phone has Droid 2.2 or higher the apps etc are installed on the internal memory (which fills quite quick)", this means that although you haven't downloaded "many" apps they're being stored on the internal memory..... Install SD card, then move your app to the card.
