I have 1 compact cassette in which the leader has come away from the tape. Can anyone suggest suitable adhesive or sticky tape to fix this? Since I only have 1 I don't want to spend lots of £.

thanks

Any repair will be a 'weak point' in the tape.

If the cassette is a screw type then open it up, discard the leader and clip the tape directly to the spool. You may lose a few seconds of the recording, but probably not.
Or, you may be able to treat yourself to a disk version of the same album, unless it is a special self recorded tape of course.

Decades ago when cassettes were common it didn't cost me much to buy a splicing kit. It supplied the tape to go with it, and from what I recall it worked fine. Try a Net search and see if they still sell.

Took a look but seems to be little around now (although the tape is still available). Found that above. Couldn't find the bib brand I used to have.
